I think the best thing we can do is send them home to the Philippines for a couple of weeks every year. Hopefully, that will enrich their Filipino-ness and help them to atleast understand the language. My husband sends his daughter every year to Germany and she now manages to speak German fluently.

I’m in the same predicament as you do. I have so much trouble teaching my children the cebuano dialect since at very young age til now. Partly because we’re in the country where english language is predominant.
Thank God that filipinos are english literate!=)
